Objectives

Empowering Contractors for Government
Procurement

Business Representation:

  • Advocate for the rights and interests of Contractors who want to do business with Government Entities through GEM.
  • Represent contractors in discussions with government authorities to address their concerns and grievances related to operational efficacy of GEM.
  • GEM to treat products and services business at par and have same rules for both on GEM.
  • GFR procurement guideline be used for GEM too that gives consideration of private sector experience too.
  • GEM to have GEMCON nominated subject matter expert in the category creation/ upgradation committee.
  • GEM’s GTC are not followed/ adhered by the Government Buyer.

Capacity Building:

  • Empower business owners about potential of government business as a mainstream revenue source and mechanism to handle pitfall.
  • Provide training and capacity-building programs to help contractors understand and navigate the GEM platform effectively.
  • Offer workshops on bidding processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Certify GEM Operators of Members Only.

Networking and Collaborations:

  • Facilitate networking among contractors, enabling them to collaborate on projects and share experiences.
  • Forge partnerships with other industry associations, government bodies, and stakeholders to strengthen the contractor community.

Information Dissemination:

  • Disseminate information about latest happenings about the GEM ecosystem.
  • Share updates and news related to policy changes and practices.

Policy & Process Advocacy

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the efficiency, transparency, and fairness of the procurement process.
  • Suggest policy changes that can better accommodate the needs and concerns of contractors.
  • Share market insights and trends relevant to government procurement across different sectors and industries.
